Two stories only a mother could love!

1. I have one of the sweetest daughters ever. Seriously, I can't figure out how lucky I got. Yesterday, Tim had to go get an MRI (whole different story) and the dr. told him that someone should drive him because he could be in some pain afterward. Since Alexa is so responsible and the other girls are learning from her example, I decided to leave the three of them home to get their jobs done. I took McKenna with me and ended up having to wait around for a while to make sure that Tim had a way to get from where his shot was over to the MRI center. I got home about an hour later to find the kitchen all clean. Alexa was standing in the sparkling kitchen. I asked her if she cleaned it because I knew I hadn't assigned anyone to it. She said, "Well, I just figured you'd like to come home to a clean kitchen." Need I say more. She is a definite keeper, that girl.

2. Olivia is sort of on a different plan than Alexa. She is definitely the one who would rather lay on her bed all day and do nothing than, well pretty much anything. I find her their anytime she is supposed to be cleaning her room or even just getting dressed. She is also easily distracted by pretty much anything around her. If she hears her sisters talking, or if she hears me getting McKenna out of bed, she completely forgets what she is supposed to be doing and has to come in and see what is going on. So, I am trying to teach Olivia about consequences - if you get your work done really fast than you have the whole day to play, or on a more frustraiting day, I would say - If you don't get this job done in 15 min. I am just going to have to give you another job. It is a trial between the two of us, I am learning patience and hopefully she is learning the value of work and how to be responsible. With that said, today I got an e-mail from a mom of one of Olivia's friends inviting her to come over on Friday to play. I called Olivia down after one of our normal mornings, here is our conversation:
Mommy - Livie, Natalie's mom e-mailed me and wants to know if you want to come over and play on friday.

Livie - (jumping up and down non-stop) yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!

Mommy - Ok, but you need to make sure that you get your jobs done really good for the next couple of days and make sure that you are getting along good with Maya so you don't miss out on going. That would be really sad.

Livie - (running up the stairs to her sister) Ok! Don't anybody bug me on friday!!!

If I can come up with some good stuff to make I am thinking about doing the same - selling some stuff on Etsy. I just have to get the confidence up that just maybe someone might buy something I've made. We'll see.

So, what is up with Timbo? It has been a long time since he has hurt himself. What did he do this time? Toenails? Broken arms? Knee again? I hope he is fine. Fill us in.

I sure miss your girls. they always put a smile on my face.

I'm thinking of selling on Etsy as well! I have the same concern. What if nobody buys anything. I think i would be upset. And then what if i get to much for me to handle. So many question. We'll see. Makes me nervous.

Tell us about Tim. We are all curious.

Ok! So, Tim had an MRI on his hip. We had been running in the mornings for a while and one day he just couldn't run. He said his whole leg hurt, from his ankle through his knee up to his hip. (I thought he was making an excuse not to run with me.) He stayed off of it for a while and the pain didn't completely stop but it was not as bad. We thought it was related to his previous knee cap injury from high school, Marque, you know the famous one with Tara and Tim and the car. The dr. thinks it's a torn Labrium (sp? I have no clue.). Which is in the socket where his leg bone sits in the hip bone area. (I am not completely sure but, I think that's what he told me.) Anyhow, we won't know anything until tomorrow when he goes to his appt. The dr. mentioned that he might have to have orthoscopic (again sp?) surgery. So, we'll see. I hope not. If he does have to have surgery, it will definitely be blog worthy, I'm sure. Marque, you were right, Tim hasn't hurt himself for a long time. I liked to think of myself as a "Good Luck Charm" since he really hasn't hurt himself since he met me, but now if he's hurt himself running with me than I might lose that title.

Wow, I hope it all works out with Tim - surgery is a pain, literally. I blame all my aches and pains on getting old, but, that's not the case with ya'll, surely.

I also discovered on Etsy that you can go to Alchemy and there is a list of handmade requests there. People looking for someone to make them something and pay for it - how cool is that?

love those stories, I think it must be the second child thing. Hayden is the same way as Livvy and Riley would be more like Lexa! I miss them!

Thanks for filling us in, Casey. Tim, get well. I heard Kaiser Permanente almost went bankrupt when Casey married Tim.

LOL! Love the story of Olivia. My girls are more like Olivia. I'm waiting for one of them to be like Alexa. HA HA! I keep telling my girls these stories of what other kids are doing, but not sure if it's sinking in. I do the same "15 min." routine too. Maybe one day it will pay off. :)
