HHHEEEELLLLPPPP!!!!!

I am always amazed when I talk to other moms and how many things they seem to accomplish. I always want to be one of those. I want to still have time for my own hobbies or even get ahead in decorating our home. BUT, I never seem to get ahead of the game. I was just thinking about that while I swept and mopped my floor the other day. I was so pleased that maybe, just maybe I could hurry and get the house all cleaned and then the next day I could spend the day sewing or doing something fun with the girls. NO SUCH LUCK! I got up in the morning, had breakfast, (I made sure it wasn't anything that would make crumbs since I had just mopped the floor the day before) got the girls doing their chores and after the dishes were done I went in to inspect the work and noticed the floor needed to be swept again. It had not been even 18 hours and I came up with this pile:
So, there I was spending my day cleaning, yet again. So tell me, how do you do it?

um yeah, I don't. I sweep my floor like 4 times a day. And I HATE walking on crumbs and junk, so it's not a job I usually let the little people do. I don't have time for the things I HAVE to do, so the things I WANT to do always take a backseat. Although, I am learning...the laundry will wait. I will keep checking your comments here and maybe some awesome mom will post her secrets!! Do tell!

Some days I just wake up and say - "ok, housework gets to be in the backseat today!" and I do the things I WANT to do! It feels good, and luckily I have an supportive husband who helps A LOT with dishes and laundry especially. I think he knows it helps save my sanity, and keeps me from feeling burnt out those type of things.
By the way, LOVE the background and the new photo of the girls. I'm sure you probably made those dresses, eh? Colby looked at the picture and said "OH, yeah! Remember when I puked at their house?" So sorry about that again!

How do I do it - I don't. I have no secrets except advice my mom told me once - if you want to stay on top of your housework, never sit down. I am probably not stressed enough about the house - I lean more toward the "laundry will wait" faction. I also think it depends on the season - in summer, we are out and about, housework is in second place - in the winter, we are home more and housework comes to the top again. I never get ahead and I always want to do more than I have - one day at a time, one foot in front of the other. It's all about balance ... at least, that's the world I want to live in - another secret I have discovered in my years of wit and wisdom (?!?) - dogs complicate housework more than kids do! Whew, what a lobor, having two dogs and five kids. I'm lucky to have the floor swept and a clean shirt for everybody everyday! But, hey, come on over!

Well I'm definitely no help. I've spent my life feeling the same way, but I will tell you, that in these later years, I never find myself wishing that I had done more to keep my house clean. Often, however, I do wish that I had done more with my children or to develop my talents. So there you have it. (Even now, though, I still go to bed at night thinking that I haven't accomplished very much.)

Ok here's my big secret! Now since you are a good friend i will let you in on it. You gout to a specialty store and get yourself a wonder woman suit. Now it has to be complete with the red boots and the gold braceletes or it wont work properly. because when your wonder woman you can do ANYTHING!!!! Ok so maybe that's not true, but Tim might like it;) Hee hee!

I've decided my house will never be completely clean until all the kids leave home. that' a depressing thought, but life is simpler when I adhere to it.
