I stole an idea from a friend on facebook. She had done this with her family and I thought it sounded like something my kids would enjoy and it was easy-peasy to do.
We just lined the table with butcher paper, bought a whole cooked chicken from Coscto, bread from Walmart, the corn I had already blanched and frozen from a farm nearby, and green beans from the freezer. We dumped it on the table and told the kids it was time for dinner. At first they looked at the table like we were crazy and couldn't figure out what was going on but they decided they really liked it. Not to mention, clean up was a snap.

This is Nate's preferred eating method. He just skips the butcher paper (and sometimes the table too). Yum!
One of my FAVORITE restaurants in Maryland "serves" your food like this. No menus, no silverware, no dishes. They just pile up the crabs and corn. Dig in! I never thought about doing it at home! Bravo!
AND, I just noticed your Mason jars for water - God is in the details!!!!! Way to go!
This is way cool!! I sure wish I had a bunch of YSAs to feed again as this would really be a cool idea! Of course, this could be a weight saving way to serve meals in the camper with no dishes and such. Ummm....
Looks like my kind of dinner! I wish I could just put a bunch of paper on the floor and then when my kids make a mess just pick it all up and dump it!
Just noticed your new family picture for the blog header. LOVE it. You guys all look so good...makes me miss you all.
