Blog Memory Game!

I saw this on my sister's blog and enjoyed posting a comment on hers so hopefully you all will do the same for me. (Hopefully nothing too embarrassing, Maren. Or ANYONE in my family, for that matter.)

Here's what you do:

1. Add a comment to this post on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot…anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses.

If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you.

This is not one of the funny cute ones. I just remember the love you had for the young women in Cabot. You always made them feel loved and important. You put soooo much into all their activities. It was awesome. Plus, you were just fun to be around!

Let's see....where to begin. Sharing a room, wearing your clothes to school and trying to put them back perfectly without you noticing--but you could always tell, throwing a candle down the hall a week before your wedding because I was so frustrated with you!, being called twins (more than once)!, singing those awesome janice kapp perry songs, watching saved by the bell, etc., etc., etc...

Dear Casey,
well, let´s see...I guess it´s just all those very little things during my stay at your parents place in Upland. I guess the best memory I had about spending time with you was that you always took me with you whenever you went to see your friends.

Oh, I remember, I guess it was my last evening and we went to one of those 24-hour grocery stores to buy ice blocks and then we went to a park to slide down the hills...

Love, Natalie

OH so many good one's: playing H & F every single night, Your awesome cooking, teaching you about dandelions, hanging with the kids, playing by the rules.... talking for hours upon hours on the phone... getting a "cup of ice", watching our husbands have marital tiffs, disneyland..... all good times!!

Remember how you hated baseball season and couldn't wait for it to be over because Dad and Maren and I were always either watching the Angels on TV or listening on the radio? You hated it!! Who knew that you would marry Mr. Sports Encyclopedia, and Maren would marry someone who couldn't care less about baseball. Hmmm. There must be a lesson there somewhere.

Casey, you are the best and all my memories of you are sweet, but, in particular I remember one favor I needed. You took the time to sew some patches for me and we just sat and talked. No real worries about time, we let all the ladies play and we just sat and enjoyed some time together. I will always remember that simple afternoon and how warm and comfortable I felt. And I have to add a little to bring out your mysterious and scheming side - you pulled off the ulitmate surprise gift for Tim when he graduated!!!! Way to go, sneaky!!

I remember the first time I ever met you and you were wearing socks with Birkenstocks - which I thought was kind of strange. But then I noticed Tim started to do the same, so he must have liked you a lot! Obviously he DID like you a lot!

I remember you always had the most outrageous shoes! I also remember feeling good that a rich, BMW driving, Upland gal would give a cowpoke from Chino a chance. We are glad you did....Kaiser Permanente is not so glad.

Being YW Camp Counselors together... Hot Shot & Bubble Up!!! And being in the Lamda Delta Sigma "sorority" at Mt. SAC... I still have the cute poem you wrote for me!!! And being in the same math class in HS and the teacher called you Casey (the opposite of how you say your name)all year long - of course, this was the same teacher who called the poor guy Jesus instead of "hezeus" - she was the cheerleading coach afterall!

The first time I met you I wanted to be your friend. We just it it off and talked the night away. It was at a baby shower. After that when ever we would get together we would just talk and chat about anything and everything. I really enjoyed that about you. I also loved watching your girls for you when you were working. And when you would come to pick them up you would stay and talk for another hour at least. I miss our talks!

I remember when you used to update your blog. Good times!

i just remember how much more pleasant you always made the Institute, and how you were always willing to put in so much work for our ridiculous "sorority" (Betsy was right to put it in quotes) planning & activities. Ah, yes, and i remember Initiation Night at your house. what a non-sleep-fest that was!

(and yeah, why no updates? bet you're pretty busy.)

This isn't a memory, but a good thing about Casey....
She's considered the "calm" daughter-in-law with less opinions. Then I come along and try the "change" everything. Sorry. :) Good to be your sister-in-law! We never run out of things to talk about. No wonder you and Lynn always get along. HA HA

All seriousness, I do love being your sister-in-law. You always make me feel good about myself and we can always laugh together. Thanks for being a friend too!

Casey- It's been soooo long! I found your blog while bloghopping through Rhonda's and then Colleen's blogs. Crazy world eh? I think someone said it already but I remember your fondness for shoes. Oh yeah and our crazy trip to Utah in my beat up old Mustang. I love that you have four girls...I have three myself and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being a Girly Mom, so what if our hubby's are outnumbered! I will have to obsess over your blog later and catch up on your fabulous life!

Ok - just read your comment on MY memmory game - so KINKO THAT! But I also remember watching your girls in primary - how well behaved and well groomed they always were - and thinking, man, I hope when I have cute girls like Casey that they will be as darling as those three! Thanks for putting up with my puking son - that DID make me feel aweful, but I just had no other option, and was SO glad that I felt comfortable with you watching him, sick or not. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
