On this next song she had a little trouble at the beginning. I only mention this because I was so impressed at how well she recovered. This was her first recital ever and I think I was more nervous than she was. You will see the camera shake because I was about to jump up and go put my arm around her and try to save her. I'm glad I didn't because she did it all on her own, not to mention I probably would have embarrassed her. It's so hard to watch your kids go through things like that. It was a great experience for her. I should mention also that her Grandpa wrote this arrangement for her so that she could play it at her level and to pass off for her Activity Days, Faith in God. It's I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus. McKenna did the vocals for the performance also.

I seriously thought at Nathan's recent recital he was just going to refuse to go up there. Because that's the kind of kid he is. He surprised us all and played his song perfectly. Rascal.
I wish Nathan would eagerly practice piano. Sigh. I'm jealous.
OK seriously 3 months??? Alexa you are a genius!! Good JOB!!
Alexa--The mark of a real pro when you have such a rough start and instead of falling apart, get it all together and play so well. Good for you! It was a good experience because now you know you can do it!
Grandpa hasn't seen the blog yet, but I know he would say the same thing. We only wish we could have been there in person.
I should add that the first song was really good. It was fun working with you on it when we were there. We love you and think you are just great.
ALEXA!!!!! Bravo!!! Encore!!!!

First, as a teacher, that was AWESOME! I agree with your grandma, to recover and have such a fabulous ending is HARD! Most students, when they choke in the beginning, choke the rest of the way. Nice recovery!
Now, as your Aunt, You are the BEST! So impressed with it, and only after 3 months! I can't wait to hear you play. I hope you play for us when you come! Kirra would love to play for you too. Love you!
